SP0RE (2016)

Digital Installation, Audio, Projection, Video Capture

This installation allows the audience to create a digital self portrait by taking a picture of themselves. This image is then added to a new digital environment that allows the audience member to transcend their human form and occupy a different environment as a digital life-form. Self-portraiture has existed since the beginning of human existence and remains an important part of self expression today. This piece examines how individuals choose to represent themselves and explores the selfie out of the context of social media.
